Turkmenistan is invited to a high-level conference in Minsk on Eurasian security
More than 300 guests from more than 30 countries will take part in the high-level international conference "Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in a Transforming World", which will be held in Minsk on October 26-27, BelTA reports.
"We now have 180 confirmed foreign participants. There are about 300 guests in total. Out of 180, probably 120 people will come here specifically for this conference. Participants are from all parts of the world. We tried to gather the maximum possible representative composition of guests," the press secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Anatoly Glaze told reporters.
Turkmenistan is also invited to participate in the forum, the geography of which covers such countries as Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Brazil, Vatican City, Great Britain, Hungary, Vietnam, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar, China, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Norway, UAE, Pakistan, Palestine, Republic of Korea, Russia, Serbia, Syria, USA, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Switzerland. Various international organizations and state associations are widely represented.
The purpose of the conference is a frank and inclusive discussion about the prospects of Eurasian security in the context of the crisis of the existing world order, chronic military-political contradictions between key players and the almost complete lack of communication between them.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia Kairat Sarybai, SCO Deputy Secretary General Grigory Logvinov and others were among the participants of the high-level plenary meeting.
It is expected that the message of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will be announced at the conference, Deputy foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Iran are scheduled to participate.
Several specific topics are planned to be discussed during the event: global and regional geopolitical prerequisites for Eurasian security; economic integration and integration in favor of a single Eurasian security architecture; interaction of international/regional organizations in the Eurasian space; strategic stability and nuclear weapons: threats and opportunities for Eurasia in new conditions.
It is assumed that the conference will make it possible to outline the promising contours of Eurasian security.
