The premiere of the play about Nury Halmamedov will be shown on the stage of the capital's drama theater


The premiere of the new biographical play “Strings of the Soul” (“Köňül tary”), dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of outstanding Turkmen composer Nury Halmamedov, will take place on October 28 and 29 on the stage of the Alp Arslan National Drama Theater in Ashgabat. The screening will take place as part of the festival “Life Permeated with Music” (“Mukama siňen ömür”) and dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Nury Halmamedov.
The author of the production is Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, director Bilbil Mamedov, who was not only personally acquainted with the composer, but was friend and worked with him. The plot is based on the play of the same name by Mammetgurban Mammetgurbanov and Sokhbet Serbazov.
By the way, this is the director’s second production about Nury Halmamedov, which will be played on the Turkmen stage. He staged the first performance “Strings of the Soul”, dedicated to the fate of the brilliant Turkmen composer, with the troupe of the State Russian Drama Theater named after A. S. Pushkin. The play won awards at the national theater festival in the spring of 2022 and has not left the stage of the capital’s theater.
The new theatrical gift will also appeal to the audience. The performance will feature famous musical works of the composer, wise sayings of famous people and Turkmen proverbs, and the author highlighted the staging with unusual stylistic devices.
The roles are performed by leading theater artists. Nury Halmamedov will be played by Perkhat Sallandyev, the poet Kurbannazar Ezizov will be played by Suleiman Eminov, and the image of the singer Atageldy Garyagdiyev will be embodied on stage by Shirgeldy Saparov.
