Turkmen artists are invited to participate in the Russian exhibition on Asian art

The exhibition "Our Asia" is being prepared for the opening in the city of Ivanovo. Its organizers offer artists and collectors from Turkmenistan to present their works in the exhibition in an online format. The project will be launched on November 9 at the ArtHub gallery.
The name of the exhibition refers, first of all, to the region of Central Asia, with which Russia is connected by a rich history of cultural interaction.
"A century ago, this region became one of the most fashionable trends in Soviet art, symbolizing the euphoria of social transformations: such masters as Alexander Nikolaev (Usto Mumin), Alexey Isupov, Olga Sokolova, Alexander Shevchenko, Alexander Volkov, Veniamin Kedrin and others worked here," said the curator of the project Elizaveta Chuprikova-Krynskaya.

The program of the project has very interesting forms: painting on cotton rugs, a performance "originally" from Tashkent, characters of heroic history and the main symbols embodied by means of painting and graphics, author's prints, carpets as works of art in a new interpretation, when the pattern becomes part of a portrait of a girl.
The purpose of the exhibition is to show the view of a modern Russian/Asian artist on the countries of Central Asia. The presentation is expected to be supplemented with products of the Ivanovo factory in oriental style and carpets, authentic or stylized, to emphasize the historical connection with the exhibition venue - the factory territory.
The authors of the project are looking for modern painters / graphic artists / sculptors / photographers working with real nature in Central Asia or based on their memories, impressions, folk legends and legends.

There has not been such an exhibition in the Ivanovo region yet, but the oriental theme is increasingly becoming a source of inspiration and is being developed by various exhibition spaces. Cultural and people's diplomacy is developing.
Among the participants of the exhibition, many eminent and experienced craftsmen have already been announced, whose names and creativity are the decoration and dignity of the cities and regions where they live and where they come from. Among them are Georgy Makarov (Almaty), whose works are in the expositions of museums in Riga and Northern Cyprus; Viktor Ovichnikov - a real favorite of the Lipetsk cultural public for about three decades, his characters: masks of the European folk theater, historical figures on the one hand, and on the other - a microcosm of the family, the theme of childhood; Ekaterina Shuts and Rustam Kurbanov are graduates of the V.I. Surikov Art Institute who worked in Uzbekistan.

"Artists from Turkmenistan can participate in the online format by sending images of their works and filling out a questionnaire. The project team will mount a film with oriental music with the works of some of these participants and will broadcast it in the gallery," Elizaveta Chuprikova-Krynskaya, the curator of the project, told ORIENT. The authors propose to learn more about the project in the community of the exhibition "Our Asia" "VKontakte": https://vk.com/club222849341 .
