Turkmen athletes won four bronze medals at the World Youth Sambo Championship, which took place in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek.

Winners of bronze medals in the Turkmen team became: Babamurad Bayramov (in the weight category up to 58 kg), and in combat sambo - Kerim Kerimov (in the weight category up to 58 kg), Dortguly Gochulyev (up to 88 kg), Azim Mammedov (up to 98 kg ).

Competitions were held in 37 weight categories in sports and combat sambo.

Teams from Turkmenistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Bolivia, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Morocco, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Romania, Serbia, Uzbekistan took part in the competition.
