Female athletes to prevail in Qatari Team at Ashgabat-2017

Qatar is going to send strong female delegation to compete at 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, says Qatari daily newspaper “The Peninsula”. Since announcement in 2010 on hosting 2022 FIFA World Cup, the efforts had been launched by the Qatari government to promote more opportunities in sport for the female population. The country focused on encouraging female athletes would be a part of its delegation at Olympic Games 2012 in London and Rio de Janeiro 2016. Noor Al-Malki (sprinter), Dalal AlHarith (sprinter), Nada Arkaji (swimming), Bahiya Al Hamad (shooter) and Aya Maidi (table tennis) - all of them have own story of success in sport life both at national and international levels. The leadership of Qatar continues its drive for attraction more girls into big-time sport and Ashgabat 2017 will provide another major international platform for them to show their progress. While final number for the Qatar team to Ashgabat 2017 to be finalized soon, a large female contingent is determined to compete for medals at 5th AIMAG.
