Turkmens presented national culture at the Festival of Foreign Students in Belarus

The reason for presenting the traditions of Turkmen culture and art was the Republican Festival of Creativity of Foreign Students of Institutions of Higher Education “F. - ART.by” held in Minsk. More than 20 thousand foreign students from 107 countries study in Belarus, including about 7 thousand students from Turkmenistan. The festival was held under the motto “Youth of the World: Identity, Solidarity, Cooperation". The purpose of the festival is to strengthen interethnic relations. Turkmen students were particularly distinguished, they demonstrated a wide variety of talents, and introduced other foreign and Belarusian students to the cultural heritage of the Turkmen nation. The samples of Turkmen national clothes, carpet and souvenir products, original accessories in folk-ethnographic style, etc. attracted the great attention of the visitors at the exhibition. The audience was taken with great curiosity the ancient folk dance kushdepti performed by our students. The old songs sounded in the Turkmen language were entwined into the musical garland of the Festival.Svetlana DAVIDOVICH
Students also had the opportunity to take part in contests, conferences, and personal exhibitions. The organizer of the event was the National Art Center of Children and Youth of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
Turkmenistan and Belarus are traditionally linked by strong and long-standing ties in the field of education. Every year a delegation of Belarusian universities conducts in Ashgabat the Knowledge Fairs and meetings with universities of Minsk and other regions of the country.
