“Among the potential suppliers of petroleum products to the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, we see refineries of Turkmenistan, the People’s Republic of China. This process is proceeding in a working order,” Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said at a press conference on Wednesday.

The Minister recalled that oil refineries from countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union must be certified according to the requirements of the EAEU.

“Some of the plants, as far as I know, have expressed their intention to be certified (according to the EAEU standards),” he told reporters, the Kazakh business publication Kursiv reports.

The press approach of the Head of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place on the sidelines of the XV Eurasian Forum “KAZENERGY”, which was held in Astana on October 4. Satkaliev spoke there in the thematic session “Implementation of the Strategy for achieving carbon neutrality by 2060”.

Currently, the EAEU consists of five countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Federation.
