Meeting with the World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia
The meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Berdyniyaz Myatiyev with the Regional Director of the World Bank for Central Asia Tatiana Proskuryakova took place on Wednesday in Ashgabat in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the talks, the sides discussed topical issues of cooperation and priority areas for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and the World Bank Group, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
An example of successful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the World Bank is the COVID-19 response project, for the implementation of which the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the main credit institution of the World Bank) allocated $ 20 million.
The parties also noted the potential for joint work in the field of financing projects in the agricultural sector, in the field of green energy, to improve the country's legislation in the light of the ongoing work on joining the World Trade Organization.
Next week, on October 9-15, the annual meetings of the World Bank will be held in Morocco, and the World Bank leadership expects the participation of the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan.
