The next corruption crime is revealed in Turkmenistan

This year in Turkmenistan can be rightly called the year of fighting corruption and bribery. Since the beginning of the year, corruption crimes have been uncovered in a number of industries. Everything shows that this is not a planned campaign, but a purposeful and irreconcilable struggle against a phenomenon that to a certain extent hinders the development of the country. And it is felt that President Berdymukhamedov will finish off the insatiable virus of acquisitiveness. On the instructions of the head of state, the state program on combating corruption and bribery was developed and approved. With a view to its implementation, the Turkmen leader established a special structure - the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes. The high status of this service is evidenced by the fact that the president introduced it to the Security Council of the country. As the head of the new (but already scary to criminals) structure told the Security Council at its last meeting, its employees uncovered another corruption crime at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. Figurants of this case imclude the head of the oil products consumption control department of the Central Administration of Oil Products ("Türkmennebitönümleri"), as well as a pair of its specialists. Corruption technology was simple. The chief inspector, during inspections on the consumption of petroleum products in institutions, enterprises and organizations, identified shortcomings, and through intimidation of the audited, received bribes from them in large amounts. On behalf of the head of the oil products consumption control department (Durdiev), two of his subordinates (Mammetnurov and Khoshgeldyev), for their promise to hide the shortcomings revealed during the inspections, also received bribes from the heads and responsible employees of the inspected enterprises. The amounts accumulated were astronomical. As a result, all property acquired with money, received by criminal means (houses, expensive cars, expensive property, as well as unspent large amounts of money) were confiscated and turned into revenue for the state. And the corrupt officials themselves are handed over to justice. This was not an indicative flogging, but an example of a purposeful and uncompromising fight against corruption, which by definition hinders the development of the young state
