Turkmenistan and Japan intensify student exchanges

Today, November 20, in the conference hall of the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD), a solemn ceremony of signing the Memorandum of Student Exchange between IUHD and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TOFS) took place. At the ceremony, the Rector of the IUHD, Esen Aydogdyev, gave a speech. In his speech, he spoke about the fruits and prospects of Turkmen-Japanese diplomatic relations, which this year turned 25 years old. Among the key areas of cooperation are: maintaining stability and security at the international and regional levels, joint projects in the economic, industrial, medical fields, dialogue in the field of culture and education.Arslan KEMALOV
The rector of the Tokyo University of International Studies, Hirotaka Tateishi, stressed the importance of the meeting of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in 2016, one of the results of which was the introduction of the Turkmen language into the TUIS curriculum, and of the Japanese one in the IUHD, where "The Japanese Center" has been opened. Mr. Tateishi stated that the Memorandum on student exchange will be the next step of cooperation in this direction.
During the meeting, the lecturer of the Tokyo University of International Studies, Sukero Ito, gave a presentation on the peculiarities of the Japanese language, studying it, and answered the students' questions.
