Turkmenistan and Georgia discussed increasing international road transport


A regular meeting of the joint commission of Turkmenistan and Georgia on international road transport was held in Ashgabat.
The Turkmen side was headed by Guvanchmyrat Akmammedov, Chairman of the Agency “Turkmenautaulaglary”, and the delegation from Georgia was headed by Levan Gamkrelidze, Head of the Land Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Having considered the current state of cooperation between the two countries in the field of international road transport, the parties discussed the prospects for building up partnership and increasing the volume of international road transport.
Georgia is a long-standing partner of Turkmenistan in the field of transport and logistics. A significant part of cargo transportation between the countries is carried out by transit.
