Turkmenistan and Malaysia step up cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies


A wide range of issues of multilateral and bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, energy and humanitarian fields were discussed during the Turkmen-Malaysian inter-ministerial consultations. The meeting was held on Wednesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan online, according to the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The diplomats discussed the topics of the bilateral agenda. In particular, they discussed the creation of a joint Intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries. The sides also noted the need to activate the Turkmen- Malaysian partnership of the parties in the field of information and communication technologies and digitalization of the economy.
In the humanitarian sphere, the countries have vast experience and potential for effective cooperation in tourism, education, science and culture, as well as in the field of healthcare, it was noted at the meeting. The diplomats expressed mutual interest in intensifying contacts between representatives of public and private structures of the two countries to conduct joint activities that contribute to strengthening and expanding contacts between Turkmenistan and Malaysia in all areas of interest.
The parties also confirmed their mutual intention to further enhance cooperation within the framework of reputable international organizations, primarily the UN. It was stressed that contacts at the highest and highest levels, as well as regular consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries are an important factor in promoting relations.
