The Spanish national team won the women's World Cup

The Spanish national team defeated the English team in the final of the women's World Cup.
The meeting, held in Sydney (Australia), ended with a score of 1:0. Olga Carmona scored the only goal for the winners in the 29th minute.
In the second half, the Spaniards could have increased the gap in the score, but midfielder Jennifer Hermoso did not realize a penalty.
The national teams of Spain and England played in the World Cup finals for the first time in history. Previously, the best achievement of the Spaniards was reaching the 1/8 finals. The highest achievement of the British women is the bronze awards of the 2015 World Championship.
