The state Corporation "Turkmenenergo" and the Afghan company DABS signed a joint protocol on the transmission of electricity to the Nur al-Jihad substation in Herat province. The Turkmen side was represented by officials of the technical department and international projects, the Afghan side was represented by the CEO of the company.

The signing of the protocol was preceded by bilateral negotiations between the Turkmen delegation and the leading energy company of Afghanistan. Earlier, Afghan officials stated that the implementation of the project on the supply of Turkmen electricity will solve the problems of the north-western province of the Islamic Republic, the press service of DABS reports.

Bilateral technical consultations ended with a full study of financing issues, as well as the determination of the start date of the project, security measures and insurance.

Taking into account the fact that Herat is one of the main trade and industrial centers of the republic, wider access of local producers to electricity will allow to diversify industries and attract attention to the region from investors.
