Iran's Ambassador to Turkmenistan told TASS about energy and transport cooperation


The Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales became the interlocutor of the TASS correspondent – the Russian agency published the diplomat's statements about the promotion of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation in the fields of energy and transport.
According to the Ambassador, Iran has increased swap supplies of Turkmen gas to Azerbaijan from 4.5-5 million cubic meters. m per day up to 7-7.5 million cubic meters. m. The Ambassador also said that Iran has agreed with Turkmenistan to reduce transport transit tariffs and continues to work to simplify the procedure of cargo transportation between the countries.
"Now we have reduced transit tariffs in order to increase transit through our countries to third countries. <...> We are negotiating to resolve issues of different legislation of our countries, customs procedures," the newspaper quotes Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales.
He added that Iran is conducting similar negotiations with Uzbekistan.
Earlier it was reported that Turkmenistan, Iran and Uzbekistan intend to create an international transport corridor connecting these three countries and sign a corresponding agreement.
