Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Head of UNRCCA


President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kakha Imnadze.
The meeting took place on Monday in Avaza, it was reported in the evening newscast of the Turkmen State Radio and Television. The diplomat conveyed greetings to the head of Turkmenistan from António Guterres, noting the active position of the country in cooperation with the UN in the regional and global dimensions.
Conveying greetings and best wishes to the UN Secretary General, Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Kakha Imnadze on his appointment as the head of UNRCCA and wished him great success in his activities in this responsible post.
As was said at the meeting, Central Asia is demonstrating dynamic development today, and UNRCCA is carrying out effective work to promote preventive diplomacy in the region, creating new formats of interaction and implementing specific programs.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that strengthening and expanding the dialogue with the UN is one of the key vectors of Turkmenistan's foreign policy, which puts forward important initiatives for cooperation in various fields.
The UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy was established in Ashgabat in accordance with the decision of the UN General Assembly with the support of neighboring states and members of the Security Council. For more than 15 years of its existence, the Center has established itself as an effective platform connecting the UN system with the Central Asian countries in the search for solutions to pressing issues and problems.
Kakha Imnadze stressed that neutral Turkmenistan makes a significant contribution to strengthening peace, creating a climate of mutual understanding and trust in the
region and the world, and assured that he would contribute in every possible way to strengthening fruitful cooperation. The news release also reported that on Monday, the Turkmen president returned to Ashgabat from Avaza, where he spent several days of work leave, which is ongoing.
