The 3 × 3 basketball team of Turkmenistan took second place in its group at the II Games of the CIS countries, which are held in Belarus.

In the first game, Turkmen basketball players led by head coach Toyly Bayriev defeated the team of Tajikistan - 22:9, in the second they lost to the hosts of the tournament from Belarus (8:21), and in the final match for reaching the quarterfinals of the II Games of the CIS countries they won with a score of 17:11 national team of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that the 3×3 basketball tournament is held in Minsk at the Palova Arena. Teams from Turkmenistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan compete for awards.

The teams that took the first places in their groups immediately went to the semi- finals, and the rest of the teams that took second and third places will continue to fight at the play-off stage from the quarter-finals.

At the quarterfinal stage, the Turkmen team will meet with a team from Kazakhstan. The meeting will take place on 12 August.
