To date, the world has four generations of cellular communications, but soon the world will get to know the fifth - 5G, which promises to be a breakthrough. This technology is developed and tested by research laboratories and mobile operators in many countries. Recently, the German telecom operator Deutsche Telecom with Huawei has created a prototype of this network in the town of Schoeneberg, Germany. Specialists have tuned four radio antennas Massive MIMO, which were previously used in 4G networks. The peculiarity of this technology lies in the fact that the transmission speed increases and the signal quality improves. In theory, 5G networks can provide data transmission at speeds up to 10 Gbps, which is 30 times superior to 4G. According to the plans of the International Telecommunication Union, the standard will be implemented by 2020. The main feature of the new network will be that it will be able to connect any devices that can work in the "always online" mode. This means that after the introduction of this communication standard, we will forget about how we reduce the data transfer rate, and even more so, completely disconnect from the Internet. Thanks to it, unmanned cars and virtual reality will pass from the pages of technological media into our daily life. In this case, the number of power consumption, both by mobile devices and communication stations, will decrease manyfold.
