Negotiations between the railway departments of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were held in Tashkent


Cooperation between the railway departments of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was discussed in Tashkent by representatives of the Agency "Turkmendemiryollary" ("Turkmen Railways") and "Uzbekistan Temir Yullari" "Uzbek Railways". During the talks, the parties discussed a number of key topics and issues of bilateral cooperation, Podrobno.uz reports.
In particular, they discussed the deployment of tank cars belonging to Uzbekistan Temir Yullari on the territories of Turkmenistan and Iran, as well as the timely unloading and return of covered wagons located on Turkmen territory.
The experts also considered the possibility of restoring the operation mode of the interstate junction points Rzd.161 and Takhiatash. The agreements reached on this topic contribute to the development of international rail transport between the two countries. The participants of the meeting also discussed issues of transit transportation and obtaining discounts on transit sections, individual export cargoes passing through the sections of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, the message says.
The parties expressed interest in developing the capacity and increasing the volume of container cargo transportation on the route Farap/Khojadavlet ex. – Turkmenbashi port – Farap/Khojadavlet ex. At the Tashkent meeting, the possibility of creating joint terminals for even more efficient and convenient cargo transportation was considered.
