Ashgabat hosts training for young families on healthy relationships and safe migration


The USAID program "Safe Migration in Central Asia" in Turkmenistan, in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Union of Women of Turkmenistan, organized a two-day training course for young Turkmen families in Ashgabat to promote healthy family relationships, prevent substance use, promote healthy relationships and prevent the risks of human trafficking.
The event, which started on July 25 in the conference hall of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, gathered 120 people, including young married couples, as well as representatives of USAID, UNODC, NGOs and educational institutions.
The first day of the training was dedicated to family values, prevention of human trafficking. The trainers taught the participants the behavioral skills necessary for a successful start of family life, as well as for solving family conflicts, raising children, eliminating bad habits and forming abilities that help strengthen family ties.
The speakers also focused on the legal aspects of countering human trafficking, considering the mechanisms for contacting the relevant authorities when identifying this problem.
On the second day, presentations on communication skills, the basics of family budgeting will be held, participants will be introduced to the principles of online security and possible risks of psychological violence (bullying) in social networks.
The main purpose of the two-day seminar is to raise public awareness about the risks of drug abuse and human trafficking.
