The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium took part in the solemn celebrations of the King's Oath Day

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Belgium Sapar Palvanov took part in festive celebrations dedicated to the National Holiday of Belgium – the Day of the Oath of the King.

On the occasion of this holiday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere congratulations and best wishes to King Philippe of Belgium and the people of the country.

The day began with the traditional Te Deum service, a religious thanksgiving service held at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in Brussels, where Their Majesties King Philip and Queen Mathilde were present along with other distinguished guests, including the royal couple Albert and Paola, Philip's parents. The ceremony was a joyful celebration of Philip's ten-year reign as monarch of Belgium. (Philippe became the Belgian monarch in July 2013, after the abdication of his father Albert II).

Ambassador Palvanov was invited to an official reception, where he had the opportunity to meet and discuss topical issues of cooperation with Belgian Foreign Minister Haja Lahbib and other high-ranking officials of the kingdom, such as Deputy Prime Minister Petra De Satter, Senate President Stephanie D'osse, Speaker of the House of Representatives Elian Thiye and Energy Minister Tinne Van der Streten.

The culmination of the day was a grand military and civil parade held on the Palace Square, which was attended by the entire royal family of Belgium together with Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, representing the federal government.

The day of the King's oath is the main official holiday of Belgium. On this day in 1831, the first king Leopold of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha took the oath and promised to be the guarantor of the constitution of the new European state.
