A new kind of officials - investment managers will appear in the Uzbek hierarchy of power
A new position - an investment manager will appear in the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about this at a meeting in Tashkent on Wednesday, the Uzbek press reports.
Investment officials will be responsible for accompanying each foreign investor. They will be in constant contact with foreign businessmen and organizations in order to promptly resolve any issues they may have. These employees report directly to the head of the ministry.
The President of Uzbekistan instructed the managers, together with the deputy ministers of investment and foreign affairs, to start working with 437 investors. They are expected to bring an additional $3 billion into the Uzbek economy this year alone.
