The number of Turkmen studying Japanese is growing rapidly. This is reported by the official website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.

According to a study by the Japan Foundation, an organization run by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the number of Japanese language learners increased by 100,000 people in 2021. This is almost 220 times more than in 2015.

Japanese is a unique Oriental language that is closely intertwined with the history and culture of the Land of the Rising Sun. According to the Ethnologue website, Japanese ranks ninth in the number of native speakers among all languages of the world. It is spoken by about 140 million, 125 million of whom consider this language their native language.

Japanese is very different from most languages of the world, at the same time attracting many people with its beauty and expressiveness. It is the language of poetry, literature, anime, manga and technology. It is noteworthy that there are different levels of politeness in Japanese. Depending on who you are communicating with, you may speak differently. Somewhere the endings change, somewhere a more polite word is selected.

In Turkmenistan, specialists in the field of teaching Japanese language are trained by the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi. Japanese is also taught in a number of specialized secondary schools in the country.
