Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan region Denis Afanasyev announced the possible organization of mutual internships and additional professional programs at the sites of the cities of Arkadag and Astrakhan, the Voice of the CIS reports.

"More than a thousand students from Turkmenistan study in the region, including in technical and information areas. Astrakhan higher educational institutions have sufficient experience in training specialists who are ready to interact with the complex infrastructure of the "smart" city of Arkadaga and its further maintenance," the deputy chairman said, speaking about cooperation between Turkmenistan and the region.

In addition, the ongoing project to create a logistics center of Turkmenistan in the port area of Astrakhan and launch a shipping line between the Turkmenbashi seaport and the ports of the Astrakhan region is of great importance.

Touching upon the topic of industry, in particular shipbuilding, Afanasyev stressed that regional shipbuilders are ready to cooperate with Turkmen shipbuilders.

"Projects in the tourism industry are of mutual interest. In addition, Astrakhan closely cooperates with partners from Turkmenistan in the humanitarian sphere," concluded a member of the Astrakhan government.
