Turkmenistan takes part in the IOI International Seminar on Ocean Management
Representatives of different countries bordering the Mediterranean, Baltic, Black and Caspian Seas participate in the 13th round of the International Course on Oceanic Management (IOI) in Malta. They are delegates from Algeria, Greece, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, Romania, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Poland, Lithuania, China and Malta. The five-week course, conducted by the International Ocean Institute (IOI), focuses on modern approaches to coastal and marine management of the seas and oceans. Special attention is paid to ethical and legal values in ocean governance in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and other international instruments and agreements. At the opening ceremony of the course, a video message was shown to participants from the Commissioner of the European Union for the Environment, Marine Affairs and Fisheries Carmen Velle.
