Newborns in Kazakhstan will be assigned an IIN
In Kazakhstan, children will be assigned an individual identification number at birth, which will automatically launch a mechanism to provide a number of public services without a personal request from parents, reports Kursiv.kz.
Until now, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has assigned an IIN to a child only when parents apply for a birth certificate. According to the new system, the civil registry, immediately after receiving medical confirmation of the birth of a child, will automatically create an act birth record without personal data. This will allow the system to automatically launch a mechanism to provide a number of public services in a proactive format without the personal appeal of parents.
The system will send an SMS to the mother, which must be answered within three days and provide information about the surname, first name and patronymic of the child. Immediately after receiving this data, a birth certificate will be generated.
"The implementation of the mechanism for assigning an IIN to a child without a full name before the issuance of a birth certificate will allow not only full accounting of the children born in the information systems of state agencies, but also at this stage to provide parents with public services related to the birth of a child," the message says.
