Serdar Berdimuhamedov identified five key areas for the development of the Turkmenistan-SCO dialogue


The members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the observer countries are long-standing traditional partners of Turkmenistan, its neighbors and friends, therefore, dialogue with the SCO is a logical development for the country both in bilateral relations with them and in terms of participation in regional and global processes. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, invited as a guest by the chairman country - India, at a meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO member States in a video format on Tuesday.
The Head of Turkmenistan proposed to highlight several key areas of work to activate the Turkmenistan-SCO dialogue. They are:
— political and diplomatic cooperation in the field of cyber and biosecurity;
— formation of logistics mechanisms to create new and improve the efficiency of existing transcontinental and regional transport and transit corridors;
— creating conditions for long-term energy cooperation through the development of joint projects to diversify energy supplies - both to the SCO countries and beyond;
— creation of a platform for systemic partnership in the field of high technologies;
— coordination of joint work in the field of climate change, environmental protection and ecology.
In the context of the latter direction, Serdar Berdimuhamedov called on colleagues to participate in the implementation of Turkmenistan's initiative to establish a Regional Center for Climate Technologies for Central Asia in Ashgabat.
The President of Turkmenistan proposed to start with expert consultations on each of the identified areas in order to coordinate the modalities of further joint work.
Such a format can be used in the future on other relevant aspects of the Turkmenistan-SCO dialogue, including in such areas as culture, science, education, and healthcare, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
