Turkmenistan was represented at the annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Canada


The Turkmen delegation headed by Chairman of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Begmurat Mukhamedov took part in the 30th annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), which was held in Vancouver, Canada. This was reported on the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
Speaking from the podium, the head of the Turkmen delegation noted Turkmenistan's commitment to peaceful diplomacy, economic cooperation, cultural dialogue, as well as ensuring environmental sustainability and combating terrorism. He spoke about the actions taken by the country to address key issues within the OSCE and promote cooperation between member countries for the sake of collective security and prosperity of the region.
The focus of the annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) was on combating the challenges facing the OSCE member countries, including terrorism, cyber threats, and organized crime. The participants also considered the promotion of human rights, sustainable development and environmental protection.
At the end of the session, the participants adopted the Vancouver Declaration, which contains the main conclusions, commitments and recommendations arising from the discussions. It serves as a roadmap for the work of the OSCE PA in the coming year.
