The general director of the TASS news agency has been replaced

The general director of the state-owned Russian news agency TASS has been replaced, the agency's website reports. The corresponding order was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
Sergey Mikhailov, who headed the country's oldest news agency since 2012, left the post of general director. Andrey Kondrashov, who was previously the first deputy general director of VGTRK, was appointed in his place.

"For almost 11 years of work under Mikhailov's management, TASS has turned into a competitive player in a complex media market. A tremendous amount of modernization work has been carried out: from updating the technical base and infrastructure to the appearance of modern digital products," TASS comments.
In a conversation with journalists, Mikhailov said that in the near future he will inform about further professional plans.
It is noteworthy that the new CEO of TASS Andrey Kondrashov was previously VGTRK's own correspondent for Central Asia. In addition, he hosted the TV program "Vesti" and "Vesti nedeli".
