Baku hosts a meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement


A meeting of ministers of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement is being held in Baku on July 5-6. The main topic of the two-day meeting is "The Non-Aligned Movement: United and Unshakable to Face Upcoming Challenges."
On Wednesday, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev spoke at the meeting. UN Secretary-General António Guterres addressed a message to the NAM Coordinating Bureau meeting participants, in which he stressed: "The multilateral approach has never been as important as it is now."
The event is expected to adopt final documents, including the Baku Declaration, First News Media reports.
The organization of the Non-Aligned Movement includes 120 member states, 18 observer states and 10 international organizations.
Azerbaijan has assumed chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement since 2019. In 2019, the republic successfully hosted the summit of the Movement.
