Turkmen sambo wrestlers won four medals at the international tournament


Turkmen athletes won 4 bronze medals at the international Sambo Grand Prix tournament, which was attended by more than 100 of the strongest sambo wrestlers from Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
The first bronze for the national team's piggy bank at this tournament was taken by Abdyla Babayev in the 71 kg weight category. This is reported by the press service of the All-Russian Sambo Federation.
Other bronze medalists include Vyacheslav Ishhanyan (88 kg), Bezirgen Begenjov (98 kg) and Charymyrat Annagurbanov (+98 kg).
"Sambo is a business card of the Krasnodar Territory. This national sport is actively developing in Kuban, modern Martial arts Centers will be built in every municipality of the region in 2024, and thanks to professional training sambo wrestlers of all ages are achieving success at All—Russian and international competitions of different levels," said Alexander Vlasov, regional coordinator of the project.
According to the results of the sports championship, Russia became the leader in the team standings, Armenia is in second place, Azerbaijan closes the top three.
