Turkmen wrestlers won two medals at the Asian Cadet Championship


Turkmen freestyle wrestlers Alp Arslan Begenchev and Dovletgeldy Muradov won bronze medals at the Asian Cadet Championship (U-17), which was held from June 8 to 13 in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). This was reported to the ORIENT correspondent in the Federation of this sport of the country.
Alp Arslan Begenchev defeated Adilet Akylbekov from Kyrgyzstan on the way to the award in the weight category up to 71 kg in the preliminary round — 13:8. In the next stage, the Turkmen athlete won the representative of Uzbekistan Asadbek Fayzullayev — 10:0.
Having then lost in the semifinals to Seidbolfazl Hosseini (Iran) — 2:12, Begenchev broke the resistance of Bilgundalai Purevdagva (Mongolia) — 12:1 in a duel for the bronze medal, thereby placing himself on the third step of the podium.
The champion of Asia in this weight category was the Iranian Seidbolfazlu Hosseini, who defeated Nurdaulet Seilbekov in the final — 6:2. The second bronze medal went to Narender Narender from India, who prevailed over the representative of South Korea Yonsu Lee.
Dovletgeldy Muradov brought another bronze medal to the piggy bank of the Turkmen national team in the weight up to 80 kg.
The Turkmen wrestler at the quarterfinals stage was defeated by the Iranian Abulfazl Rahmani with a score of 4:0. However, having got into the round of "consolatory" fights, he defeated Byambador Enkhbat from Mongolia — 4:3, and in the fight for bronze he won a confident victory over the representative of Kazakhstan Nurassyl Yerassyl — 5:0.
In this weight, the championship was awarded to Abulfazl Rahmani from Iran. The representative of India Saurabh Yadav took the second place. Another winner of the bronze award was Hau Yiyang (China).
The Asian Wrestling Championship (U-17) in Kyrgyzstan gathered more than 450 athletes from more than 30 countries of the world. Immediately after the end of this tournament, Bishkek Arena SC will host a similar continental championship among wrestlers under 23 (U-23), which will continue until June 18. The national team of Turkmenistan will be represented by 24 athletes at the tournament.
