Turkmenistan has entered the top ten countries in terms of the number of students in Kyrgyz universities
In the 2022-2023 academic year, 64 citizens of Turkmenistan are studying in universities of Kyrgyzstan in various areas of specialty. According to this indicator, the country is in the top ten, 24kg reports, citing data from the National Statistical Committee.
In total, 71.7 thousand foreign students study at universities of the republic, more than half of them are citizens of Uzbekistan (40.2 thousand). In total, approximately 43 thousand people from CIS countries study at Kyrgyz universities. India is in second place (15.3 thousand).
The top ten countries also include Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
Kyrgyzstan is one of the largest hubs of foreign presence in Central Asia: in addition to foreign students, 22 thousand citizens from other states live in the republic.
