Turkmen athletes will take part in the Grand Prix of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), starting on June 8 in Havana (Cuba).

As the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the country told ORIENT, the composition of the Turkmen delegation for the upcoming tournament was formed by four people, including three athletes. The men's team included Gaygysyz Toryaev and Shatlyk Shohradov. The silver medalist of the Olympic Games 2020 Polina Guryeva will perform in the women's category.

The Turkmen delegation will be headed by the head coach of the national team Mansur Rejepov.

The Grand Prix of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) is one of the stages of Olympic qualification. More than four hundred weightlifters from more than 70 countries will gather at this competition to compete for places in the ranking that determines the participants of the 2024 Olympics.
