Ashgabat's partnership with the EAEU acquires a strategic focus in the field of transport


Turkmenistan's trade, economic and investment cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is acquiring a strategic focus in the field of forming a transport and logistics system.
This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on Financial, economic and banking organizations Hojamyrat Geldimyradov at an expanded meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Sochi, TASS reports.
The head of the Turkmen delegation also said that Turkmenistan aims to develop the routes "Central Asia — Caspian — Black Sea" and "Central Asia — Persian Gulf", which will help to activate cargo flows between interested states. In particular, we are talking about the Central Asian region, China and Europe.
In addition, the indicators of Turkmenistan's trade cooperation with the EAEU countries were announced:
"By the end of 2022, Turkmenistan's foreign trade turnover with the EAEU countries increased by 10.7% compared to 2021. And for 4 months of this year, the trade turnover increased by 9.2% compared to the same period last year," Geldimyradov said.
Also, according to him, Turkmenistan considers the EAEU as one of the important trade and economic partners.
