Turkmenistan held an online forum on water in the format of Central Asia + Republic of Korea
"Creative ideas on water resources management for sustainable development of water bodies in Central Asia" - an online conference organized within the framework of Turkmenistan's chairmanship in the 16th Cooperation Forum "Central Asia + Republic of Korea" was held under this title on Monday
The event, held with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, was attended by representatives of all six dialogue countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
The conference focused on effective approaches to the rational use of water resources, integrated management of them, and in this context, promising proposals and relevant recommendations were considered.
Priority areas for the sustainable development of water bodies in Central Asia were identified and it is planned to include them in the work plan of the Secretariat of the Cooperation Forum for 2024.
The initiative to create the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum was proposed by the Korean side in 2007 in order to increase efforts to expand and strengthen ties between the Central Asian countries and Korea, intraregional cooperation.
This year Ashgabat will host the 16th Central Asia + Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum.
