Turkmen diplomats and students in Minsk celebrate World Bicycle Day with a bike ride

The bike ride dedicated to the World Bicycle Day was organized on Saturday by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus. Diplomats also invited Turkmen students studying in higher educational institutions of the city of Minsk to participate in the action.
The event was held in Victory Park, one of the most picturesque and largest of the green corners of the Belarusian capital with a lake and bike paths, along which a column of participants with green flags of Turkmenistan rode.

Before the start of the race, a small solemn part was held, where it was noted that World Bicycle Day is a holiday that unites countries and peoples, emphasizes the importance of such enduring values as peace and solidarity, health and good spirits. It opens up wide opportunities for the development and popularization of sports as a messenger of peace, and the establishment of fruitful cooperation in this area.
As part of the celebration of World Bicycle Day, the UN General Assembly has welcomed initiatives to organize bike rides at the national and local levels as a means of promoting physical and mental health and well-being, as well as promoting a culture of cycling in society.

It is also noted that a bicycle has a number of advantages over public transport. This is environmental friendliness and economy - two-wheeled transport does not pollute the environment. No need to buy tickets and stand in queues at the gas station. This is the speed of movement and convenience: you can move in the right direction along the optimal route, bypassing any city traffic jams, discovering new interesting places in the city. And this is health, because cycling is an effective way to burn extra pounds, tighten muscles and simply strengthen the body, while enjoying a pleasant ride around the city.
