Astana will host the Asian and Oceania Sambo Championship in 2023


The capital of Kazakhstan will host the Asian and Oceania Sambo Championship in 2023. Competitions will be held from June 7 to 11 at the Beeline Arena among adults, juniors and juniors, boys and girls, as well as masters.
Blind and visually impaired sambo wrestlers will take part in the event for the first time.
"This year, for the first time in history, the Asian and Oceania Championships among the Blind and Visually impaired will be held, in which athletes from all over the world will take part. The International Sambo Federation continues to pay great attention to the involvement and adaptation of people with disabilities in our sport, to create opportunities for international tournaments. I am sure that other continental federations will be able to adopt our experience in the near future," said Alamjon Mullaev, Vice—President of the International Sambo Federation, head of the Asian Sambo Union.
Besides Turkmenistan, representatives of such countries as Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Palestine, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Japan are expected to take part in the tournament.
Registration of athletes for the tournament is carried out using the electronic system FIAS.
