The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the 19th World Meteorological Congress


The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Ambassador Atageldy Haljanov took part in the 19th World Meteorological Congress, which was held in Geneva, the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Switzerland reports.
During the session, which brought together all the participating countries of the World Meteorological Organization, new persons were selected and appointed to key positions in this international structure, whose members are 193 States.
According to the results of the voting, the representative of Argentina, Andrea Celeste Saulo, was elected Secretary General of the organization, and the representative of the UAE, Abdullah Ahmed Al—Mandus, was elected president.
The main goal of the Congress is to achieve the resilience of countries to the socio-economic consequences of extreme weather conditions, climate change due to global warming and other factors by 2030.
