Pakistan to establish University for Central Asian students
The University of Central Asia and Pakistan will open next year in capital of Pakistan, Islamabad city, says Pakistani media. According to reports, the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has finalized arrangement to establish the University of Central Asia and Pakistan (UCAP). This activity is in line with federal government’s drive for providing higher education facilities to the students of Central Asian nations. The project will be allocated of Rs 2.84 billion (near US $ 27 million), APP reported, referring to official sources. Under the project, the UCAP will open in September 2018 in the building of COMSAT Institute. Soon, the university will be allocated with land for the own building. Initially, the programmes of Schools of Business and Leadership would be started. The post of head of the university and faculty members could be applied from any country by all those fulfilling criteria. Pakistani government is responsible for allocation of land and the provision of basic structure for the university, while the Central Asian countries can take part in operational cost, directly or by providing scholarships to their students. The UCAP University is being opened to promote international peace, social and economic development in the region and cultural exchange among the South and Central Asian countries, the sources added.
