OECD supports Turkmenistan in trade facilitation

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) supports Turkmenistan in trade facilitation through the introduction of special indicators. This is reported by Trend with reference to Gregory Lecomte, Project Manager for Central Asian countries of the Eurasia Department of the OECD Directorate for Global Relations and Cooperation.
This work is carried out within the framework of the trade facilitation project in Central Asia. Indicators allow us to assess the progress made in this area.
"In June this year, the OECD will hold an online meeting of the working group with the government of Turkmenistan to discuss the results and areas of possible reforms," Lecomte said.
He noted that at the moment the OECD is actively cooperating with the Government of Turkmenistan, as well as with representatives of the private sector in order to stimulate the development of trade and transport links.
"In recent years, cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OECD has expanded. In particular, the country participates in the Central Asian Initiative of the OECD Eurasian Competitiveness Program and the OECD Anti-Corruption Network of Eastern Europe and Central Asia," he said.
