The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Deputy Prosecutor General of the country Begench Gurbangulyev is taking part in the 32nd session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), which is taking place in Vienna.
Speaking from the rostrum, the head of the Turkmen delegation noted the positive role of the country in promoting international and regional cooperation in the fight against transnational organized crime.
The theme of this year's CCPCJ regular session is "Improving the efficiency of the criminal justice system in order to ensure access to justice and build a safe and protected society." The session will continue its work until May 26.
A special emphasis during the meeting was placed on Goal 16 — Promoting the construction of a peaceful and open society for sustainable development, ensuring access to justice for all and creating effective, accountable and participatory institutions at all levels.
CCPCJ is the main UN decision-making body in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. It offers States a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience in order to develop national and international strategies and identify priorities in the fight against crime.
