Turkmenistan is actively developing its transport infrastructure and participates in the implementation of international projects to create transit corridors. One of such projects is the Lapis Lazuli Corridor, a multimodal transport route Afghanistan—Turkmenistan—Azerbaijan—Georgia—Turkey. The corridor is the shortest and cost-effective channel for bringing Afghan goods to European markets.
