Gas hub in Turkey will work maximum within a year — the head of the Ministry of Energy of the country
The international gas hub for the supply of natural gas to Europe through Turkey will work for a maximum of a year. This was stated by Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez.
"Thanks to its functioning, it will be possible to sell more gas to European countries and diversify energy sources in relation to Turkey," Donmez said, noting that in Southern European countries they do not ask if there will be a hub or not, they are interested in when it will start working.
According to Donmez, through the gas trading center, Turkey can supply about 40 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe, which remain with it as a surplus from 100 billion cubic meters of gas imported per year.
Turkey is currently negotiating with 15 countries that can participate in the implementation of the project. Work on the creation of the hub has entered the final stage.
