President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Xi'an

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is in Xi'an to attend the China- Central Asia Summit, met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday.
The head of China, welcoming the President of Turkmenistan, recalled his successful state visit to China in January this year, during which it was announced that bilateral relations would be raised to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
For China, 2023 will be the first year of full implementation of the guidelines laid out at the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Xi said. He noted that Turkmenistan recently held successful parliamentary elections, which completed an important domestic political agenda. The country is moving towards "the revival of a new era of a powerful state" under the leadership of President Berdimuhammedov.
Over the past 31 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Turkmenistan have carried out friendly cooperation based on the principles of respect and mutual benefit. Bilateral relations have great potential and broad prospects. China is ready to work with Turkmenistan to continue developing cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples, Xi Jinping said, according to the China News Service.
