Serbian Ambassador arrives in Ashgabat for official accreditation
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova received copies of credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia Momcilo Babic on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the sides noted the importance of maintaining a high-level political dialogue and holding inter-ministerial consultations, and spoke in favor of expanding the bilateral legal framework.
Trade, textile industry, supply of polymers, fertilizers and agricultural products were named as promising areas of economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Serbia. Prospects for cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian field, especially in the field of education, were noted. Special attention was focused on the development of interuniversity cooperation, according to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
Momcilo Babic has been the Ambassador of Serbia to Russia since February 2022, and since he concurrently became the Ambassador of Serbia to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, his residence remains Moscow. He is a doctor of medical sciences, the author of many scientific papers, books and textbooks on medicine, was awarded for the project "Health Policy in Serbia until 2022". He is engaged in painting and often donates his work to hospitals and to charity.
