President Xi responds to letter from Central Asian students studying at China Petroleum University

Students from Central Asia studying at the China University of Petroleum (Beijing) wrote a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping. The main author of the message was a student from Turkmenistan, Rahman Bayramdurdyev, to whose name the answer came from the Chinese leader, CGTN reports.

“President Xi urged young people to contribute more to the development of relations between China and Central Asian countries. Students from these countries studying at Chinese universities are not only witnesses and beneficiaries of China-Central Asia relations, but also builders and storytellers of such ties. Xi added that young people can act as ambassadors of friendship in the region,” Rahman Bayramdurdyev said about the content of the letter.

The Turkmen student is studying in Beijing on a doctoral program at the China University of Petroleum and is one of the many students from the Central Asian region who receive knowledge at universities in China on scholarship projects.
The CGTN news agency said that the response letter from President Xi raised the morale and confidence of university students and faculty, and rallied everyone to further strengthen cooperation between China and Central Asia in areas such as energy, finance, trade, culture, and science.
