Athletes from Turkmenistan will take part in the Asian Belt Wrestling Championship, which will be held from May 20 to 25 in Jizzakh, Uzbekistan. This is reported by the National News Agency of Uzbekistan.

It is expected that the championship, which will be held under the auspices of the United World of Wrestling (UWW), will bring together famous wrestlers from about 20 countries, including Uzbekistan, India, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan.

Athletes will demonstrate their skills in weight categories up to 57 kg, 62 kg, 68 kg, 75 kg, 82 kg, 90 kg, 100 kg and over 100 kg. In turn, women will fight for victory in the weight categories up to 52 kg, 58 kg, 66 kg, 76 kg and over 79 kg.

Two categories of belt wrestling will be presented at the championship — Kazak Kuresi and Alysh.
