Talks were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China
First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Ma Zhaoxu arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. On Saturday, a Chinese diplomat held talks with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Khadzhiev.
Issues of preparing the parties for the upcoming Summit of the Heads of State of Central Asia and China on May 18-19 in Xi'an and priority areas of interaction in this format were considered.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the bilateral agenda.
“The parties noted the dynamic development of trade and economic relations, effective cooperation in the energy sector. In this context, it was emphasized that the countries have a huge potential, the implementation of which will bring bilateral trade and economic relations to a higher level,” the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said.
The similarity or closeness of the positions of the two countries on international and regional issues was also noted, the diplomatic department added.
