Nine branches of world universities to open in Kazakhstan


This was announced by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, at the Rectors' Forum of the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA), which opened on Friday at Nazarbayev University in Astana. Six of them, and these are the leading universities in Europe and Asia, will open this year, according to the official website of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The opening of branches of international universities will help solve the shortage of technical and IT specialists - new universities in Kazakhstan will be focused mainly on these areas. Students will be able to study in their own country, and in others - through exchange programs, it was noted at the forum.
“In particular, the Seoul National University of Science and Technology - one of the leading technical universities in South Korea - Seultek in Kyzylorda. Literally on May 17-18, within the framework of the visit of the head of our state to China, an agreement will be signed with Tianjin University on the basis of the East Kazakhstan Technical University. The so-called workshops will be opened. It is planned to sign an agreement with Xi'an University,” Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov said.
Branches of world universities are planned to open by 2025. And today in the regions of Kazakhstan there are branches of Russian educational institutions - the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, the State University of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin, as well as a branch of the American University of Arizona.
